well after all the messing around l have done with this scope trying to get it to work right using the goto setting, l had reached the end of the road so l emailed skywatcher and explained how this never worked from day one, no matter how many time or how many folk tried to set it up it never worked.
so today l took it up to stockport binoculars centre and they tried it out and low and behold they to could not get it to work, Rick the guy up there tested it and found out it was nothing to do with the handset the motor in right accession had a mind of its own, so they are now going to replace it and fingers crossed all should be ok.
well how silly is this ,,,, yes l took my scope up to stockport binocular centre Rick had it for a week but in the end gave up, he phoned OVL and explained all about what was going wrong,,,, they told him it need to go back to Orion Telescopes where the GOTO was fitted and for them to send it back. you would have thought while it was up at stockport binocular centre they would just send a replacement to them. so up l went again to stockport binocular centre if l go there many more times l am sure they will be inviting me to the staff party,,, anyway off to the states in a couple of weeks hope its sorted by then,,,, people told me l should have gone for a Celestron but knowing my luck it would be just the same
anyway watch this space,,,, oh l did say dont send me a repaired one back up l have no confidence in that unit now
