Been working on this for a long time .... My new telescope, I've designed and built it. I'm very pleased with it so far. I've a long way to go with testing it properly but the first light image shows pin stars with beautiful knife edge diffraction spikes. I've got to do a slight adjustment to the corrector to pull back the stars at the edge of the field....this is nothing unexpected and is all part of the set up procedure on this type of scope. Once its set it wont need to be touched again.
The scope design is a 10inch Modified Dall-Kirham F/6.8 CNC machined components. Main components are powder coated with a few other anodised bits. Optical configuration is a ellipsoid primary, spherical secondary and a doublet corrector.
No collimating tools needed. I collimated it on a defocused star.....real simple
