Mid Cheshire Astronomical Group

We don't have the long heritage of some of the venerable groups here, having been founded in 2013, but we have a wide range of expertise - from beginners through to very experienced observers and imagers.

We meet in Delamere Forest, generally on the last Friday of the month at 7.30pm, at the Forest Explorers Cabin; which is near Delamere Station, beyond the Go-Ape site. If the weather is clear, we have the keys for the Old Pale carpark where some of us will set up scopes, otherwise some of us go to the pub afterwards. It's a fairly dark site, and last time we were there, we had a great view of the Milky Way as it passes through the Summer Triangle. Not bad for July.

We also have an informal group who meet most Thursday nights at 8pm at the same place, following an informal 'learn about astronomy' course if it's cloudy, or observing if it's clear. If you're interested, come along.
Our Website can be found here:

If you message via the Contact Us page I'll get back to you (as of 2016-17 I'm the contact point).

Or just come along and enjoy the welcome.
