Can anyone help please?

Hello, a complete beginner looking for some advice.

I have been mulling buying a telescope for some time. Yesterday I wandered into a charity shop and picked up the attached for what I consider to be next to nothing. Can anyone help me identify it? I know of course that it is a telescope mount, and from a little reading I think it is equatorial, but what I really need to know is what type/size of telescope can I use with it. How can I go about this? There seem to be no markings on it that would indicate manufacturer, so I assume it is something generic.

If it helps the 2 counterbalance weights are each around 3.5kg.

Many thanks for any thoughts.

Don't know what make that is but it looks fairly solid. Someone may be able to id it.

I would say it is capable of taking the same weight telescope as the counter weights.

I think its an early Vixen mount, similar to the GP and GPDX series. I have a Vixen GPDX mount, and if its anything like as good you've got a bargain.

I reckon you could carry a Skywatcher Quattro 200mm reflector on that (but something smaller would be easier to handle).
