Hi all,
Does anyone have any long-term experience using the sites and tools available, and so have a good opinion on which are the most informative and reliable?
I've looked at the likes of:
http://www.metcheck.com/HOBBIES/astronomy.asp
http://clearoutside.com/forecast/53.48/-2.24
:cloudy:

I check the weather ahead from several public sources and monitor them on a day by day basis. I don't just rely on one source. If there are big changes or differences then the forecasts might not be reliable. If a day looks promising then looking at satellite images, in time lapse on the day, will show likely cloud movements and clear spells for the night. As night approaches on a potentially good day the first rule of weather forecasting applies- look out the window!

I look at this one as well as the others above but it is equally inaccurate

I find the BBC weather app and the Met office app are quite good for a specific postcode, though I also look at Clear Outside and Scope nights.
I agree the Satellite images help too.
Though experience shows you can't rely on any of them :( :( :(

I also look at more than one site, but this one has been pretty reliable - over 4 years it has been wrong only twice:
You can enter the location you want.

Hello Ryan,

maybe this one could be interesting for you: https://www.meteoblue.com/en/weather/fo ... om_2643123
Maybe the accuracy of that tool may be accurate in some cases..

Thanks all - it seems a scatter gun approach works best to get an average outlook.
I though they had crashed as Manchester is stuck showing as grey and cloudy... then I looked out of the window and realised it was accurate

Must admit I have used the met office to inform my viewing but to be honest being in Cornwall with our micro climates nothing beats just using ones eyes
Must admit though there are some good tips on here thank you.
