What Bins to buy?

Postby davekelley » Tue Feb 18, 2014 8:24 pm

I am ne on this forum, so, Hi everybody! I have owned over the years everything from an ST-8o to 12 inch Dob, Currently I own a Celestron refractor CR100-ED. I want some binoculars, I love using binoculars but currently only own some 8x42 Nikons. Even those, I cannot hand hold steadily enough for astronomy. I am curious about Celestron 15x70 Skymaster, as opposed to Oberwerk 15x70 or 11x70 fmc's.....I am happy to pay £150-200 for decent bins, but are the Celestrons at £60, just as good? I will be using a monopod to steady the view. Is there much difference between am 11x and a 15x Bino? What would peeps recommend?
Cheers everyone.
