Absolutely. I even wrote to the folks at Orion to ask whether there should be a spring there. I thought perhaps something might have happened at their end putting the scope together, or there'd been an issue in shipping (highly unlikely) but was assured they don't have a spring in their secondary mechanism.

I can tell you that precise adjustment is very difficult, and the whole thing feels a bit 'rough', if you know what I mean.

I'm going to do some experimenting to see if I can find the right size springs. I'd also like to do the full secondary mod as per your video. Unfortunately, I don't have a punch to do the washer thing that you demonstrate. I'll have to find some way of sorting that
