my acme solar filter

For the discussion of posted tutorials so as not to break up the threads. Just start a thread here with the same name as the tutorial.

TUTORIAL DISCUSSION

Why a tutorial discussion section? Well, if a person is posting a tutorial thread in segments, the tendency is for people to post questions in-between. This causes the tutorial to become convoluted.

So, if you post a tutorial, especially if you intend it to be several messages long (ie, in steps) please also post a thread here with" <name of tutorial> discussion" as the subject.

Thanks

I thought Id share this with you all, being late for buying solar film I thought Id make my own filter.
Not sure how much the glasses are now but these were included in the total eclipse pack back in 1999 when I visited Amiens to ensure I actually saw it. The pack was £5 and had four glasses, a pinhole card for projection, a small solar panel and the times for diamond ring etc. So it maybe a cheaper way for people to make their own solar filters.

*******Usual Warning*******
Id still not trust them for actual optical viewing
Id use either projection onto card for lining up or the lcd screen of the camera in live view.

All good fun but eyes are precious!
