Need to know about how to work that new mount or scope? Got tips on how to make it easier?

New obsy build advice

Postby CThody » Wed Apr 25, 2018 2:58 pm

Hi. Finally I'm in a position to start to build my own observatory :-) I've opted for a 2.2m dome for lots of reasons and intend to run it remotely thanks to a spinal injury that means I struggle to be outside in the cold.

I need as much advice as I can get, particularly with regard to software and the electrical installations needed to make this all work. Electrics baffle me (I was an airframe engineer - anything mechanical is good :-))

Will be using an NEQ6 and (initially) my modified Canon 40D for imaging...

Wondering if anyone on this group has a dome installation with robotic operation? Looking forward to responses with anticipation...
