First-time buyer advice.

Need to know about how to work that new mount or scope? Got tips on how to make it easier?

Hi all,

forgive me for not searching the forums for this post as I assume it's continually posted, but I'm new to the forum and am thinking soon of buying myself a telescope and would love to hear a few tips or pointers from you guys. As for myself, I'm 44 and live in Germany. Hopefully the equipment has the same availability here, and would seem so after a quick web search. I'm on the outskirts of Berlin and it's beautifully dark here, with pretty much no lights to affect the results. I'd probably look at up to £400 and would very much appreciate the traps to avoid when buying one.

Regards Gary.
