Any electricians out there ? Consumer unit install help !!

Postby Brutie » Sat Jul 15, 2017 5:52 pm

Hi Folks,

Finally getting to installing power to my 99% complete obsy.

I have a nice BG garage consumer unit with metal case: see:

http://www.screwfix.com/p/british-gener ... /1926g#_=p

and am about to install it.

I am OK with the wiring , but not sure about the cable knock outs. How do I actually knock out these metal knock outs ? They have round indents at 20mm which is what I need to attach my cable entry fittings but I don't have a drill big enough to make a 20mm hole. The case is I believe aluminium .

Any suggestions ?

Thanks !

Rgds
