Blocking Filters, the story continues........

For those who can't decide if there's not enough day, or not enough night!

*** WARNING ***

Do not EVER look directly at the Sun through a telescope or in any other way, unless you have the proper filters and have been educated in their proper use. This can cause INSTANT eye damage, and remember, you only get ONE pair of eyes!

Blocking Filters, the story continues........

Hi all, this solar lark is confusing...due to lack of information.
So tring to get as much info together as I can to do a guide for anybody else who is confused....
Just a bit of info from anybody who has a Blocking filter Diagonal, eg BF5.BF10 etc.
From the information I have is that the PST blocking filter on the new blue lens version is a two piece system, with the top part being the BF5 and the lower section having a mini ERF in it. This is what mine has, and all the ones I have seen, as it was the ERF on the earlier ones that failed (rust problem) as the ERF was the front lens and gold in colour, so they changed them round and the blue front is not the ERF anymore as they have moved it to the first filter in the eyepiece tube.
And also been informed that the BF5.10 etc diagonals are the same now...(so need to confirm this)
So asking if anybody has a BF5,10 etc if they could check to see how many filters there are in it?
Also found out that the standard PST BF has the same threads on it as the BF5 etc, so they can be swaped, but not sure on the ERF.
In theory then, if you were to unscrew the BF from a diagonal it would be the same as the PST one. and the ERF would be left behind in either the PST or the Diagonal, so you could in effect swap just the BF in a PST to a BF10...

So any help on this would be great.... Thanks in advance for any further info....
