You were right about the orange filter. :thumbsup:

I viewed the Mare Imbrium region of the Moon between 05:00 and 06:00 with both the Celestron Orange No.21 and Deep Yellow No.12 filters. The orange revealed more detail and was overall better in those light conditions. I chose the Sea of Rains as it was close to the shadow part of the Moon (it reaches Last Quarter at 16:42 BST today) so quite prominently visible. Craters, like Autolycus, Archimedes and Timocharis, were easily visible. I used my Mak with a combination of eyepieces and a Barlow to give me 87x, 102x and 173x magnifications. I also compared it to an unfiltered 15mm EP.
