Hi, anyone using SharpSky with SG Pro? I think I've got its working O/K but any advice on setting would be good.

As long as you have a decent "V" curve all is well.

I have just setup and got working my autofocus system via SGP. Spent a lot of time reading how to configure and what settings to use etc. I got chatting with a collegue and he suggested just doing the following:

In SGP put in the following settings:

AF Metric - HFR
AF Every 2 degrees change
AF before sequence Start
AF after auto centering
Exposure Times - 8.0 (this applies to both DSLR/OSC/MONO)
Binning 2x2
AF Data Points 9
Step Size 200
AF Dialouge Close 5
Min Star dimeter 6
AF focus with filter LUM (if using mono)

When reading the manual, the step size seems to be the focus of attention. I have tried mine with 100/200/300 etc and get good results for each - so dont get too hung up on this bit. Start somewhere between 100 and 200 and see what happens!

First thing before running the Autofocuser is to get manual focus - ideally with a Bhat mask. Take a note of your focuser position as a reference point for the future. When focused, run the AF routine. As stated above, as long as you get a v or at worst a u shaped curve you'll be good to go.

Since i installed mine and have a rough reference for focus, i just setup and hit autofocus. I've never had to do a manual focus other than the very first one. - af does it all for me.
