0.4 sec Arcturus.jpg
Hi, can any one tell me what's going on with this star. I tried to use my SCT 800 working at f10, no FF/FR. This was the first star that I slewed to in order to get focus, after getting good focus using a bahtinov I removed the mask and this is what I was left with. It looks to me like condensation on the scope but there was none when I checked. The image is a 0.4 sec sub captured with nebulosity4 using an Atik 428ex OSC camera. It's only the brighter stars which look like this ,( it gets worse when stretched), the smaller, fainter stars seem to be unaffected. Any ideas? Regards Stuart
