Hello everyone, its been a while!
Took the plunge and bought a Skywatcher Star Adventurer.
Its quite a lovely piece of equipment.. Even just to gaze upon!
I had my first proper go with it last night, full moon and all! I managed 2 hours of ha on Cygnus using my 12 nm clip filter. I surprised myself with managing to frame The north American and pelican, first go.
It was also my frist time trying an old M42 Prinzflex 135mm prime lens with a canon adapter.
The lens itself was fairly banjaxed when i bought it, the aperature was stuck wide open, so with a bit of poking around, manged to stop it down half way-ish. Still ok for 15 quid.
The fov turned out to be tighted than I expected, probably to do with the adapter and the crop sensor combination.
I found I could get 4 min subs, unguided with good polar alighnment, at least I think the stars are round!
Great weather here, topped 32c yesterday nice to be in the garden at 2am wearing just shorts!

congrats on a sound purchase, a nice bit of DIY in the shed tradition and on a great capture.

Thank you Peter.
Going camping this weekend. Hope to add some rgb to this. And perhaps try some milky way stuff.. If it's not too early in the season. Think it may be better in August-September?
