Mare Imbrium region

Postby sjf » Sat Feb 16, 2019 4:41 pm

Imaged around 1800 hrs 13 Feb 2019. A bright Moon after more or less weeks of grey cloud in southern UK was a tempting opportunity. Instead of using my DSLR at prime focus on my Celestron Edge 9.25", I used my cheapo guiding camera, ASI 120MC, and was surprised at the resultant quality even though the sky was a little misty.

Panoramic mosaic of Mare Imbrium region featuring amongst others:
- Archimedes, Cassini, Plato, Eratosnethes, and Ptolemaeus craters
- Montes Apenninus, Montes Alpes
- Vallis Alpes
- Mare Serenitatis
