Lunar Occultation of 68Tau

Postby jjb2011 » Fri Mar 07, 2014 11:50 pm

Tonight I watched the Lunar occultation of a brightstar is Taurus - 68Tau I think. The moon tonight is just short of half and this evening seeing was quite good - first time for months. The dark part of the moon could be clearly seen in the scope (85mm, F11 Refractor) due to earth shine. At 2154 UT (observed from Ledbury - Herefordshire)the relativly brightstar 68Tau was occulted by the dark limb of the moon. Great to see it through the scope but pitty I did not have the camera set up.
