Just clear up one point for me please Dion. I usually post links to images on my web site, is this the same as using Photobucket in bandwidth and space on the server etc?

I do the same thing, except I insert the URL on IMG rather than a link.

Will this suffice?

Carole

it's the same thing really carole, I prefer to use [img] tags as it embeds the image nicely, people don't like to have to click links to view images on sites/forums i've found, it's all to do with this instant digital age I think.

Might sound like a daft question but how do you upload from photobucket or other similar site?

Jeff....

You don't Jeff, when you have your pics on photobucket, if you click the pic it gives you 3 links "email & IM", "Direct Link" and "IMG Code"

When you click on "IMG Code" it will auto copy the link for you and you just paste it into a post. Through internet magic, the pic appears in your post, but it's not actually on the shed site, it's on photobucket. It works for any image hosted elsewhere, for instance, if you click this link :-

http://images.free-extras.com/pics/d/da ... k-1048.jpg

You'll get a pic of daffy duck that is on some other site somewhere.

BUT

If you add what we call IMG tags, it will embed the pic in a post as opposed to a link. IMG tags look like this :-
Code: Select all
[img]URL OF IMAGE BETWEEN IMG TAGS[/img]

So, if we do it with the above and make it look like this :-
Code: Select all
[img]http://images.free-extras.com/pics/d/daffy_duck-1048.jpg[/img]

The code boxes above are used to show code without it 'working' but the working IMG tag now does this :-

hello James, long time no speak, in your pro account i recommend you do the following :-

Even though you aren't uploading an image, click "upload"

At the bottom of the box there's a small blue link that says "Customize your upload options" click that

Select 4000x3000 and select "save"

All done, you can now close the photobucket page.
