This tutorial goes through the first component of processing your valuable data. Though not a particularly difficult task to achieve, DeepSkyStacker can be a bit daunting (settings-wise) to new users but it is a wonderful (and free!) piece of software that does its job amazingly well, being compatible with pretty much any image format (for both DSLR and CCD camera users). My tutorial goes through the process of using your light, dark, bias and flat images to produce final calibrated images for each channel (I use monochrome data). The tutorial then moves on to using DeepSkyStacker to register all your individual channel images with each other so that they line up perfectly for later combining into a colour image and post-processing further. The tutorial very much applies to those with One Shot Colour cameras (e.g. DSLRs), however.
